Reutlingen ESB Business School

ESB Reutlingen is one of the leading business schools in Europe. A vibrant international dimension, excellent teaching and a healthy balance between theory and practice are central elements in its vision of providing forward-looking and interdisciplinary degree programmes. The high quality of these programmes is confirmed by regular top positions in all the leading university rankings in Germany. With 60 professors, around 50 other members of staff and over 2000 students, ESB is one of Germany’s biggest business schools.

ESB Business School has been awarded five green points in the CHE university ranking (Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung), which was published in the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT on May 8, 2014. ESB is thus once again in the top league of universities in Germany.

A modern infrastructure and good facilities provide an optimal environment for academic success in Reutlingen. The Computing Centre runs a high-speed gigabit Ethernet and the central server on the campus, and provides around 1800 networked individual workstations. In addition students can access our wireless internet connection using their private laptops.

Teaching at Reutlingen University goes far beyond the simple transfer of knowledge. The independent organisation of students in project groups, application-oriented thinking, social competence and support for personal development are all fundamental to the curricula of our degree programmes, in order to provide students with the best qualifications for their future careers.

Location & Campus Life

Reutlingen, the “Gateway to the Swabian Highlands”, is situated in one of the most beautiful landscapes in Germany. The town offers more than just a fine blend of medieval timbered buildings and modern urban architecture; there are lively shopping facilities, quiet romantic spots, cultural diversity and a wide range of leisure facilities, all providing for a very high quality of life. The proximity of the ancient university town of Tübingen and the Baden-Württemberg capital city of Stuttgart also contribute to Reutlingen’s attractiveness as a place to study. The Black Forest and the Lake of Constance are also within easy travelling distance.

With around 25 % of its students coming from outside Germany it has the highest proportion of international students of all German-speaking universities. Many of the University’s professors and other staff members themselves also come from outside Germany or have international experience.

Everybody who visits the University in Reutlingen should feel at ease. For this reason one of the University’s hallmarks is its commitment to providing good service. All important facilities on the campus are within easy reach, it is only a short walk to seminar rooms, the library or the cafeteria. What is more, the University administration ensures that administrative procedures run swiftly and smoothly. The Student Office and the International Office offer students advice and practical support.
