In the fall semester, Chapman University awards one Semester at Sea applicant a $7,500 scholarship to help off-set the tuition, room and board fees. This scholarship, known as the "M&M Griffiths Semester at Sea", is only open to Semester at Sea applicants who study abroad through the Center for Global Education from at Chapman University. Applicants compete only with those students who submit scholarship essays.
Award Winners: If you have been chosen as the scholarship recipient, the award will be made directly to your Chapman University Business Account, therefore reducing the amount you owe directly to Chapman University for your participation on this study abroad program.
Institute for Shipboard Education Chapman Semester at Sea Scholarship
In addition, each fall and spring semester, Chapman University selects a recipient for the Chapman Semester at Sea Scholarship for $7,500, awarded through the Institute for Shipboard Education. This scholarship can help off-set the tuition, room and board fees. Only Chapman students who study abroad through the Center for Global Education are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants compete only with those students who submit scholarship essays.
Award Winners: Typically, Semester at Sea will post the credit balance to your shipboard account for use on field trips or shipboard purchases. After the voyage sets sail, Semester at Sea will be in touch with you to let you know your options for accessing this credit balance.

To apply to the Chapman Semester at Sea Scholarships, please click "Apply Now". You should complete the scholarship requirements concurrently with your Chapman study abroad application to Semester at Sea, as the same deadlines apply for both applications. For Fall semester abroad, students apply once to both scholarships and may only be selected for one of the scholarships.
